Welcome To Troop 998 Web Page!

Welcome to the website of Boy Scout Troop 998, chartered in Pleasanton, CA, by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.) Post #6298. We have been serving the youth of Pleasanton for nearly 60 years, putting the Outing in Scouting, through community service, camping in the great outdoors, and allowing our youth to learn by example through the leadership of our youth. We develop responsible and capable youth through camping, adventure, learning and most importantly, through fun and friendship.

Philmont Training Hike at Mount Diablo

Posted on May 30 2022 - 10:57am

Crews going to Philmont this summer had a practice hike up to the summit of Mount Diablo. We started our hike on the summit trail at Rock City and hiked 3-1/2 miles and climbed over 2,200 feet in elevation to the summit. We then hiked back to the starting point to complete our 7-mile hike in just over 5-1/2 hours of hiking time. All crew members did phenomenally.
