Welcome to the website of Boy Scout Troop 998, chartered in Pleasanton, CA, by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.) Post #6298. We have been serving the youth of Pleasanton for over 50 years, putting the Outing in Scouting, through community service, camping in the great outdoors, and allowing our youth to learn by example through the leadership of our youth. We develop responsible and capable youth through camping, adventure, learning and most importantly, through fun and friendship.

On July 17, 2019, Braedon successfully completed his Eagle Board of Review and earned his Eagle Scout rank.

Fair Advance ticket sales

Dear parents,
 
Our fair fundraiser is about to begin. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. Our troop sells advance tickets to the fair & the scout and troop receive a commission from the sales. 
 
We have 3 ways for the Scouts & the Troop to fund-raise with this.
 
1. Scouts take fair tickets from us & sell them on their own. Scouts return unsold fair tickets to us with a check for what they sold. We will then credit their scout account for their commission (listed below).
 
2. The troop has signed up to sell at the Farmers market on May 25. Scouts sign up for a shift. Whatever tickets get sold during their shift will be counted & the commission shared between those scouts scout accounts.   https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a0d4da5ae2aa57-selling
 
3. Scouts/parents share a website link with family & friends to purchase advance tickets at a discount online. They enter a promotion code & the troop will receive the commission for the sale. Our "promotion code is "BSA998".  Please note that ONLINE SALES DO NOT COUNT AS COMMISSION FOR THE SCOUT. THE TROOP RECEIVES THE COMMISSION. This is great for out of town friends & family or anyone you are not able to meet up with. There is a cost to the purchaser to order online & in addition, we are not able to track which scout the purchase was from, therefore the **TROOP** receives the commission and not the scout. https://annual.alamedacountyfair.com/pricing-hours/
 
Jenny will be passing out fair tickets during the troop meetings to those scouts who want to sell on their own. Scouts need to be responsible for the tickets they take so please keep track of them. We need to return any unsold tickets to the fair organizers and we are responsible for paying for all tickets not returned to them. 
 
Scout or Troop will receive:
$1 per adult, Child or Senior ticket sold
$2.50 per carnival wristband sold
$5 per Fun Pack sold
$4 for Season pass (online only)
