Welcome To Troop 998 Web Page!

Welcome to the website of Boy Scout Troop 998, chartered in Pleasanton, CA, by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.) Post #6298. We have been serving the youth of Pleasanton for over 50 years, putting the Outing in Scouting, through community service, camping in the great outdoors, and allowing our youth to learn by example through the leadership of our youth. We develop responsible and capable youth through camping, adventure, learning and most importantly, through fun and friendship.

Hi Troop 998,
Here is information on the upcoming Alameda County Fair Volunteer Program. See below attached 7 documents:
1.  Summary of the program
2.  Job Description
3.  Enrollment Form
4.  Timeline of Activities (most important ones are:  send me your enrollment form by 4/30 and attend June 11th Volunteer Orientation Breakfast)
5.  Dress code
6.  Orientation Breakfast info
7.  Thank You Dinner info
Younger scouts may want to consider the following jobs:
Science Nuggets
Power Station
Solar Learning
Discovery Quest
Small Animals
Day Clean Up (the job title is a bit misleading.  Clean up is available for both AM and PM shifts.
As I mentioned in the summary, volunteers at age 16 or younger will need to be accompanied by adult (1:1 ratio).  However, the program in-charge will allow up to 4 youths to 1 adult ratio for Day Clean Up job.
Any question, as usual, feel free to email me, call or text me on my cell 510-910-3472.  This is our first year participating in the Volunteer program, therefore I may not have all the answers readily available for you but I will find out for you for sure.
Thank you.
